I love drawing with ink, its physicality, and its responsive properties. After learning about Jason Logan’s work I too began making inks out of natural, foraged and found materials. When I encounter pigmented elements like flowers or sin my life I think how could colour be extracted for ink, what potions might be made, what processes will help it last. In experimenting with repetitive and meditative mark making I am trying to keep the ink ‘as good as it is in the field’, thinking through new practices and how material making can be art making.
