I love drawing with ink. Its physicality and responsive properties always feel exciting. After learning about Jason Logan’s work I too began making inks out of natural, foraged and found materials. When I encounter pigmented elements like flowers, berries, plants and other things in my life I think how could colour be extracted for ink, what potions might be made, what processes will help it last. Looking at place and seasons, as well experimenting with repetitive and meditative mark making and fields, I am trying to keep the ink as good as it is in material. I am thinking through new practices and how material making is already art making. Further, my walking practice includes field drawing with ink and watercolour; quick moments of document, in place.
